favorite brands?

do you have a brand of clothing that you always end up buying? and what draws you to that brand?

i was out shopping at macy's the other day and they were promoting this new line of clothing by american rag (i liked the clothes- they're cute and trendy but looked really comfortable too) and they had this magazine that featured bands like phantom planet wearing their clothes. does it matter to you if celebrities or musicians wear a brand- does that make you want to buy it?

George.

I always buy Primark. Good quality and cheap. When a celebrity wears it, it doesn't make me want to buy it though. I'll buy something perhaps like it if it's really nice, but why waste good money trying (with emphasis on trying) to look like Sienna Miller or something when it's naturally impossible?

Chill. Wasn't saying there's anything wrong with George. George is cool.
And the big deal with clothes is that in society today people distinguish you by what you wear. Wear Converses and skinny jeans and your instantly emo, wear a Burberry cap, you're a chav. I'm not entirely sure what's the deal with brands though. I suppose it's 'cos there's this need to fit in or something. I don't know.

I blame society.

I hardly hardly hardly buy clothes or anything really. But i usually go for really top quality so i end up using it for a long long time, because i try to be as much as an ethical consumer as possible. It's what geography did to me and my lifestyle.

Eyewear: FCUK/Oakley (im nearly blind you see so i gota have eyewear)

Top: Hugo Boss, Esprit, bench (the filipino one, not the chavvy Uk brand)

Down: Hugo Boss, Esprit, timberland,

Shoes: Timberland

Fragrance: Hugo Boss

Gadgets and electronics: Sony but for phones Nokia

Printer: HP or Canon (relatively cheap to maintain and good quality, last longer than STUPID EPSON...plague upon all of their houses)

Musical Instruments: Yamaha (tried and tested...)

~~~~~
but definitely not nike, adidas, reebok, puma, or any other street sportwear
You are one expensive d00d. Hugo Boss...Timberland...I can only dream of ever buying that, that's if I seriously felt the need to. I mean the most expensive brand I've ever bought was Nike or something. I still get my glasses free so no designer there...hehe...
But I do agree with the flute thing. My family pooled together to get a brand new Yamaha student flute. How I love that flute...*dreamy eyes* I'm in the process of begging for insurance. But I have been promised a brand spanking new Yamaha professional flute upon gaining a Grade 8 Distinction. That should break the bank.
I have a fair amount of money but why waste it on expensive brands of clothing, in about a montjhs time everyone would stop wearing it and changing to someone even sh*tier.
Very true. That doesn't stop people from doing it though. Maybe it's a chemical imbalance or summat.
OMG OMG OMG! u play the flute tooo! I play the flute too! YAY!
I got a yamaha 371 but i didnt want it sort of.. actually i do but i would rather have a cheaper make. because i feel that i dont give it so much attention. hey maybe you can play in our youth orchestra. We are holding auditions this september.
I just recieved my results from ABRSM and i got a merit on grade 7. I think i will stop there because i finished getting free lessons. But I would love to get a distinction on grade 8. -is sad-
OMG, professional flutes are like 1500 and above. There was one in topwind for about 5000! WTF... aww...
btw... i hardly ever buy something as said but i rather buy the quality, where i can use it for ages i save up like forever to buy something
Well done for getting a Grade 7!
I'm aiming to get that at the end of the year. You got free lessons? Lucky. My mother is currently forking out £500 a year for my flute and musicianship lessons (it was around £650 when I was having guitar lessons). And as for the professional flute, one can't have me playing in the Cambridge Chamber Orchestra (my near-future dream) with a student flute now, can they?
About the brands, quality isn't always expensive. My sister bought some £45 shoes and they were all messed up after a month, I bought £15 shoes and they lasted me a year before they began to fall apart. And some of the stuff I get from magazines lasts me a long time.
