year 12..

i just need to rant for a bit i think.
i'm in year 12. and it's taking everything out of me.
i'm currently anaemic, and suffering fatigue.. i'm really really stressed, i have so much work to do and it's all so difficult. my most difficult subject is philosophy and i can't do it it's also harder than it should be because i'm doing it by distance education (as my school doesn't offer it). and i'm just watching all my work pile up.
i can't do anything i like anymore. i don't have time. but i physically can't do my work either, as i'm often feeling like crap, really really tired, or just moping around the house feeling sorry for myself.
i couldn't get to sleep the other night because i just saw my exam timetable (kind of).... i'm already stressed and they're in november, also one of my exams is on my birthday ... *sigh*

anyway. if any of you are in year 12 and are currently feeling the same as me in any way i'd really appreciate some advice or whatever.
thanks, mel.

Re: year 12..

Well, I guess I am in the same boat...that's the year twelve boat, but I am treating it really differently...
For a start I am not taking it nearly as seriously as I ought to...I do the homework I need to that is due soon, but the stuff I should do gradually over time (art and photography stuff mainly) I am just pushing aside...
I wish I was working myself harder because I have always been a hard worker in school, but I have started just sort of...not...(the internet is bad for me...*sigh*) I am really not going to get the results I hope for if i keep this up...

Still, it's not nearly as bad as the mind set you seem to have gotton yourself into Mel. And it's a hard thing for me to give advice for.
But, do you know where you are headed AFTER school? Because is there a NEED to push yourself to hard, or if you aren't getting things done, to punish yourself for it? I know it's important, but if you know there is a place you are headed then you can work on the most important things to get you there, and let a few assignments for other subjects slide for the sake of your sanity.
Also, the both of us have high standards and pride in our work Mel, but think, if it's bringing you down so much you don't need to stay up as high as you were. Lowering how much work you do a little might lower your results slightly, but will also keep you on top of it a bit more.
It's really overwhealming I know, but year 12 isn't the end of the end. There are still ways to get into what you want to do without getting the score you think you need. Lots of people who didn't even do year 12 have got exactly where they want. You have high standards and I think you'll be able to get wherever you want.

I don't know if that helps at all...

(PS. Thomas did philosophy and could probably help you. I know you said you had been on some philosophy forums and they didn't help much...
Thomas goes online fairly regularily and I could give you a link to his forum and you could PM him questions (he ALLWAYS reads PMs, it would be the best way to get onto him) He knows...stuff!...and I am sure he would be happy to help if I just ask. So if you have questions would you want to ask him? cause he did year 12 philosophy and knows the course...If you're interested and/or feel comfortable with that let me know..)

Re: Year 12...

Okies, I'm not in year 12, but what you're saying sounds like the same thing I'm going through in PE. We have to do Sprint Workouts every Thursday/Friday every three weeks and have Mile Runs once every month. Every day we do light jogs, stretches, push-ups/crunches, and a green. They aren't that big, but I have PE right before lunch and if I don't eat breakfast in the morning I don't have the energy to do all the work. But I've got some new ways to cope with it. Because no matter how much work you do, it's gonna hurt. It's not going to hurt more the less work you do, but it's not going to hurt more either if you do more work. So you can do the work if you try and it's not going to hurt more, it's going to hurt all the same but you'll feel a lot better about yourself.

Re: year 12..

Well i am in year 12, again, last year i got really stressed with all the sudden work i had to do, and so i decided to start again this year. I definately feel better for the break and i knew what to expect and how to prepare myself.
The only downside is that im a year behind everyone but it doesnt matter too much, because id rather take my time and do it well, as apposed to letting it all weigh me down and failing.
