thats a really tough question. i like to think that i have principles and would take justice over mercy but at the same time if somebody in my family was offered the choice i would probably be selfish and want them to take mercy but i really dont know cos ive never been in this situation and hope i never am
Morals are all subjective, either mercy or justice can have there place depending on the situation, but it's for you decide what is right, no-one else.
Mercy is an emotion in the same category with pity. Pity is a form of weakness, as it brings one individual down to the level of the one being pitied, so that all members involved feel the same anguish. Mercy is only to be used when it is deserved. In all other instances, justice, as the individual perceives it as such; is the course. However, justice cannot be defined with relation to the collected as a whole. As well, it cannot be defined in all circumstances whenever mercy is an alternative. Therefore, attempting to find a superior choice for everybody is, for the most part, null.
