lol guys, srry i dissapeared; but i didn't have a choice, and it was all rather unexpected so i couldn't reply...
yes, Tyler may be the anti-hero...or is supposed to be, but well all love him anyways, lol.
Yah, i guess i have to admit spirituality is lost in me. i'm not at all religious or anything. the world being lost is a reflection on a suposed 'god' i think. I don't think i'm looking in the wrong places. Why though is it that society feels the need to create a god? It is to fill our weaknesses; to console the unconsolable, god and satan are there to blame or give us an excuse to be lazy or unresponsible "it's in god's hands; his will be done". You can't live life based on what someone else who might exist and doesn't give us much reason to believe he does (we create that on our own); might think of u. We should lead it the best we can and be the best person we can; but purely for the purposes of humanity. Good and evil can still be very real without any spiritual sense to the words

-slaps most of the people in this thread- Sigh.
Chuck Palahniuk is my hero, his books are amazing. Lullaby is a great read.
I think Brando summed it up quite well.

hmm i think thats mighty ironic considering your first name is Angela. I believe you know what your name means but just in case i wanna write it here.Angela; messenger of heaven;messenger of God;angelic.its greek. Angel: a guardian spirit{that being only one of quite a couple definitions}. i dont know,,,, i just think its extremely ironic that a person with that kind of name would be such an atheist.

lol, well no one has to say I have to live up to my name. In fact, I intend to give new meaning to it, and then I can be the epitome of an Angela. lol

well you cant really know unless the person says that themselves so thanks for clearing it up. the reason that i said that you are "such and atheist" is for lack of better frasing(sp). what i meant to say is that you are very outspoken in your beliefs.

well thank you. i believe if you really believe something u should be outspoken; or at least not shy to say you believe it.

Dare you consrue your words to contradict what have you been accused of, for the lack of belief is the lack of thought but two words can mean the same given a correct postion.
As for the Tyler Durden philo, i do not agree with his ideas. Writers for movies and books should not be taken so seriously for such ideas, media makes us believe a lot of rubbish. "Fight Club"... a good film, in my top 10 in fact but only due to plot and character. A shame really that so many do not know of films like "Fight Club", now i know how "hellboy" got good reviews.. eugh..
I didn't say you should take everything a movie or writer throws at you and take it seriously; i was asking what your take on the character's philosophy. But also just because an opinion is in a book or movie doesn't NECISSARILY mean that it isn't something that can be considered seriously. Now, I'm not really saying consider this seriously and if you agree with Durden, go blow up credit card buildings. This is a philosophy a little more to the extreme, but i put it up as a casual convo.
lack of belief is lack of thought? well hell, do you believe the world is flat? Is that because of a lack of thought? I said I'm an agnostic; therefore contradicting the aethiest comment. No more contradiction needed.
