i have a deck of tarot cards and a set of runes at home. i've never used the runes but i have used the tarot cards. they were really close to the truth, telling that i would go through a rough patch, but my friends would be there to help me and i would turn out better because of it! i am really intrested in this sorta thing! must be my celtic blood!
but yeah, i've looked up a lot of stuff on wicca, and it's a really interesting religion!

well, there symbols that a norse and mean different things.
they are used by wiccans/witches and some of the other pagan religions. they can be carved onto wood, stone, metal, crystals and glass.

wadda mean they freak you out? thats not what what their ment to do!! like i said, their norse symbols that mean different things. it's hard to explane........ they are used to predict things, can be worn as good luck charms and heaps more.
i'll get more info soon.

yeah, i understand why you would be freaked out by them, i mean, they have been used as symbols of evil in movies, books and tv for ages!
one that does stand out was in The Blair Witch Project, they were used in that.

Yeah im part of Triplets, no we dont really have a 6th sence thing lol. My twin and i however kinda have this thing, you cant really understand unless you have a twin. I mean we understand eachother perfectly, she doesnt even have to take and i know what shes thinking. Its cool, some times anoying. My other sister is rather private but im slowly cracking her lol.

So Runes, I love them almost as much as tarot. As people said they can be used in everything really, Divination, spell craft, rituals, talismans, charms, trues names. Because they are so old and come form such knowlegable ancients they carry some of the more powerful magicks. However thats not to say they are evil, non of the runes hold any truely evil meanings or anything.

Like tarot all runes have the same basic structure, and meaning. Like in tarot there are many different decks. There are many diffrent forms of runes. The Elder Futhark, the younger futhark,The Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, the norse...and so on are all different forms of runes. SOme have only 16 symbols, where others have 33 or more. The ones more commenly used have 26 like the alphabet, each symbol representing a sound, or letter in the english alphabet. THe one i usualy us has 24, thats not including the blank rune, there is no historical support for it, some read it ,some dont, its a personal choice.

I love tarot, and find it to be very acurate. If you have a knowlegdeable person reading your tarot it can be very specific and factual. There are a million different spreads and such you can us to find out almost anything. There are calender spreads, the celtic cross spread, the past present futur spread that can be use to answer simple questions, and there is the 55 card spread. the list is endless. you can even make up your own ifyou wish. Most of the time the tarot reads things that thge subconscious(unconscious) already knows. They are just stating them. No one should live by the tarot, but it is a very nice referance. how the tarot really works is kinda a mystery, some say its intuition, others say its taping into fate, then you get into theories like Carl Jungs Collective subconscience, whichsays we all have knowledge deep in our minds that accual predates our human forms.

Anyway my aunt belives in intuition that not just anyone can read tarot. Its a gift, she has friends and relitives that want to read tarot and try hard to but just dont get it. SHe says everyone has a talent in divination they just have to find it. There are millions of forms of divination: water, scrying, casting lots(dice, stones, sticks, Bones), reading clouds, the wind, fire, I ching, palmistry, tea leaves. Currently im trying to read nature more, like birds and such, when i was upnorth for the summer i started to read water, and sand.

SO in conclusion, it took me over 3 years to learn tarot and im still not perfect at it. its hard because your not suposted to read individual cards, your suposed to read them all as a hole, like a story, and the cards change meanings when they are with other cards, and they have to relate to the person or the question. It is a very complicated art.

yeah, it's strange how much they are. i know a lady that works at a shop called 'natures wisdom' (i love that shop) and she does tarot readings and she read my palm! she's a wiccan so she knows a lot about this sorta thing. it's really sad though sometimes when people go in there and call her names and abuse her because she is wiccan. they think that she is evil. i asked her why and she said that people think that because wicca is nearly the same as witchcraft they believe she is gonna curse them. Genevieve3, is there a differance between wicca and witchcraft? because the websites i go onto about wicca say that wicca is a branch of witchcraft? if so then thats cool! we get a magazine where i work (at a newsagents) called witchcraft and i have brought it a couple of time. it is really interesting!

ps. i changed the spelling of wicca on the title of this thread from 'wicaa' to 'wicca'.

Witchcraft has been assosiated with evil ever since the burning times. But wicca is assentialy witchcraft. I like the term wicca, but witchcraft is cool to because it convays certain images of power, and mystery. wicca is a religion, witchcraft is the craft, but yeah they are the same.

now sorcery....meaning left handed, evil. Now satanism is kinda scary.....they only believe in what they call" the basic human emotions" jelousy, anger, and lust. anyway scary stuff.

Its so funny because curses only work if the person being cursed knows about it. So if you dont believe in curses they wont affect you. So its stupid for people to be scared of that stuff. i know how your friend feels, trust me, unfortunatly by becoming wiccan not only do you resieve a great gift you also get hurassed unfortunatly, people dont understand the religion, or dont believe it is one and dont care to learn about it. But they think its right to be mean and disrespectful. thank the goddess for parents who dont mind. ive had troubles with my friends, family, school kids and other peoples parents. but thats another story if you want to know some horror storries just ask, im be happy to share.

Im open about it, ill tell people if they ask, i wear a pentical pendent around my neck on twine, which signifies i have family under the same religion. so most people know im a witch, wiccan. And ill answer anyquestion, i never push my religion on others tho you know like mines better or whatever i hate when people do it to me.
So yeah wicca is a branch of paganism.

Usually religions who are a minority in the area are harassed. Unfortunately for wiccans they are a minority most places so they get most harrassment, that and people think they are the wicked witches.

I like studing wicca. If i wasnt a hindu i would be a wiccan probably.

Thanx the atmosphere here is so nice. Its nice to be able to talk and not have anyone freak out at everything you say.

ignorant stories lets see.

I have a friend at my school named tara she is my age and very wiccan. UNfortuantly she is very active in the craft and reads to much about spells and not enough about rituals and so on . Anyway everone knows shes wiccan, she talks about it openly. so kids in my school harass her like crazy. There are wild rummors around the school about how shes so evil and when one of our teachers got cancer they said she did it. also whenever she walks by they sing ding dong the witch is dead. Anyway thats one storylol.

Ive had people ask me about ym religion and when i say im wiccan, or a witch they donbard me with question that im happy to aswer where as other start talking about how im evil, and what i do is devil work. For example i love tarot and brought it to school so i could read one of my friends. I was reading in my gym class on the 3rd last day of school when a girls i dislike with a passion (hates to strong a word i dont like using it) asked me to read here. I did and was accurate. After she started talking about how tarot was evil and a sin. Of course i said it wasnt. She went on about how she went threw communion and her church said it was satan and devil work. I told her that tarot pre dated the devil so how was it possible that it was devil work. anyway i found it stupid because she was so willing for me to read her tarot when she believes it to be evil.

Another story. My best friend mallory is wiccan same as me. unfortuanty her mom thinks it completely unexseptable and is very close minded. She knows i am a witch and that i have family members who are also. Wicca is a large part of my life and as with most hobbies, interests, or religions its part of my daily life. And mallory wants it to be a part of her life to but she can't. She has to sneek around, lie and all sorts of things just to hide it.

She has to keep her wiccan stuff at my house, she has to explain every outing or visit to my house. When ever we chill i have candel on in my room and insense( real candels with essential oil, and fresh dried insence from my garden) and she has explain why she smells like lavender or sage to her mom. It so stupid. for her birthday i bought mallory all of these wiccan things,and decorated it and made a special box it took me hours. She could show her mom ( who happeneds so me a miterialistic mad (bee with and ich) so she was mad that i didnt get her anything when i did.

It so stupid because shes missing out on so may things because she not open minded. makes me so angree her being my best friend. And i know you must be saying: Why doesnt she just tell her mom? She cant ... i ask her that all the time she says that i dont understand that if here mom knew we would never be able to see each other ever. which is so not far. it sucks because parents when there kids to be open but if there going to freak out about stuff why would your kid want to open up. Anyway rediculus.

Another friend of mine has a similar mother. SHe doesnt like anything wiccan or witchy (mostly because hse doesnt understand it) but she is ok with Ouija. HELLO Ouija do you know how dangerous that can be omg that would take me like 2 pages to explain and i will maybe at a later date when im really wanting to type lol. Thankfull her mom is coming along and relizes no matter what her daughter is going to be herself no matter what.

ok well i have more that are much more interesting that i just remembered but maybe for next time. im tired and school hurts my brain.lol
