what do you think?

Any luck
I talked to some people in my coven and they seem kinda interested so ill see where that goes. For a while now ive been thinking about starting a club at school for pagans, wiccans, witches or whoever wants to know about the religion. I know its going to be really tuff but i think it would be cool. what do you guys think?

hey

Hey
I sure am lol. Its semi formal that nights but on the 22nd im haveing some friends over. Just a few not my hole coven though. well do some chanting and stuff. theres lots of yule traditions found in christmas, like the christmas tree, yule log, christmas lights and so on that are pagan based. so i love christmad alot. Holy for example is an old pagan tradition used to woard off evil spirits, its also a symbol of redirth. Cool Cool. As many people know when rome and other countries as well was slowly turning to christanity they took already existing holidays and changed them slightly to make them christain, this made is easier to convert the pagans. If there holidays didnt change drasticly then more people wouldnt really argue the change. Most religions are a mosaic of many other religions all roled into one. Constantine, the ist christain emperor of Rome, held a vote on this issue christanity was vasely explanding. cool hun lol. history 101

i hope it was fun!! do you still do the whole 'christmass' thing with your family (eg. listen to carols, put presents under the tree)? i guess it wouldent be that hard to since it's so similar to Yule. whats your next sabbath? in fact, if you can give me the dates and a little discription of all your sabbaths then i will add them to teenvilles calander.

YEAY. lol My parents ( my mom) andyway isnt actually pagan tho she does do alot of pagan things. she stands by her religion but encourages me to learn about mine as well which is nice. My dad doesnt really have a faith ( which you propably know make me sad) he hates the commercialism of christmas but the general idea is nice. Yes we listen to carals, watch the classic movies, white christmas and mirical on 34th street. it was really fun. unfortunatly my mom had to be rushed to emerge yet again........blah thankful she was home late christmas day.

OK holidays. There are 4 main holidays(Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox) and 4 minor holidays (Imbolic, may day, Lughnasaoh, Sahaim) .

Sahaim ( hollow's eve) Oct. 31
It is the 1st harvest festival of our year, and our new years. It is also a time for us to remember those who have died in the last year, thoses you have lived for us and died for us. It represents one full turn of the seasonal year. Divination is really good at this time because the "viel" between the worlds is weakend. Traditions- pumpkin carving, cider, black candels for protection, and waurding off negativity.

Yule. December 21.
This is the shortest day of the year and the longest night, it is a solar festival that celebrates fire with the yule log. HAlf the log is saved and used to light the new log next year. SOme traditions are wreaths, berry candels, holy, tree, fancy cookies and fun...

Imbolic ( Candle mass) Feb. 1
This is for welcoming spring after the long cold winter, it is a festival for fertility - to celebrate the tings that are yet to be born, just barely waking under the winter snow. Traditions of this holiday are white candles(re-birth) and lavender, crafts and decorations of the home getting rid of all the winter stuff. Its also a holiday of the Triple Goddesses ( maiden, mother, crone)

Ostara ( spring equinox) March 20th
This is know as the warrior holiday. THis holiday happeneds when night and day are equal in perfect balance with one enother. Traditions of this holiday include_ seed blessing for future planting, egg colouring. The easter bunny ( a symbol of fertility because bunnies have lots of babies all the time lol) , baskets of flowers.

Beltane ( mayday) May 1st
ON of my all time favorite holidays. It is a time for love and union and of course the MAY POLE. It is a holiday for feries and children. It celebrates the up coming hot months.

Midsummer Solistice June 21.
This is the longest day of the year and also the bes day to do majick. Some of the strongest magick i have ever done was on this day. It celebrates passion and success, By coven i am earth, but by birth i am Fire , this holiday is all about fire.SOme traditions are decorations using sun flowers, red and yellow. Red feathers are great and gold. It is a time of forest sprited and faeries.

Lammas ( Lughnassadh, Comucopia, Thing tide) August 2nd
This is a time to say farwell to the sun god . It represents the begining of the harvest festival. The ealy harvests begin. OSme traditions - Lots of bread is baked, magickal cabnits are re stoked. HERBS are haarvested.

Autumn Equinox ( Mabon, Winter finding) Sept 21
This is the second of the harvest festival, it is associated with the taking of corn and other foods that are to be harvested ar this time, Corn bread(best ever), cakes and cider are excellent additions to the festival. The frost hits soon after so the last of the herbs are collected..... collecting turning leaves ( dip them in parafin wax) they make cool decorations...... red candles and others festival colours.

If you havent allready noticed alot of these holidas fall on or close to already exsiting holidays. Also those holidays in our months ( like holloween) that have no reall christan basses are seen in pagan tradions.
cool cool

Hello
AS many who have been on teenville and have read this deel alot im wicca (duah) lol But like christanity, wicca has many different types like there are lutheran, minanights(sp) etc there are different faiths within the wiccan faith:

Alexandriean Tradition
British Tradition Witch
Celtic wiccan
Caledonii Tradition
Ceremonial Witchcraft
Dianic Tradition
Eclectic Witch
Gardnerian Tradition
Hereditary Witch
Kitchen With
Pictish Withcraft
Pow-wow
Seax- Wica
Solitary witch
Strega Wiches
Teutonic Witch

They all have there one traditions and history however they stay true to the basic tardations on wicca and its basic law. I dont practise wicca under any spesific tradition i am part Hereditary witch"one who can tracethe craft through thier family tree and who has been taught the old religion by a relative who was living at the same time". And Eclectic witch" The individual does not follow any particular tradition, denomination, sect, or magickal practice. these witcheslearn and study from many magickal systems and apply to themsilces what appears to work best.

Cool, i knew there were alot of traditions, but i didn't know that many!

ummmmmm, i know:

Celtic wiccan: a Wiccan that follows the celtic folklore and traditions.

Dianic Tradition: focuses on the female ascpect of the religion, manly the Goddess Diana, nearly all the people that are Dianic Tradition are women.

Eclectic Witch: someone that follows no set guidlines of one Tradition (like you ) but takes parts out of other taditions that feel right to them.

Gardnerian Tradition: thoses that follow the path set by Gerald Gardner (spelling of his name?) in the 1940's - 1960's. he is considered the father of modern Wicca and brought it out of the hiding it was in since the burning.

Hereditary Witch: someone that can trace witchcraft in their family (like you to )

Kitchen With: works alot with herbs and making potions, cooking food for the different times of year.

Solitary witch: someone that does witchcraft/wicca on their own, not in a coven.

am i right?

Web sites.... lets see i have to say some websites are kinda poopy however the information on this site is good (lol) most if not all i have taken from books or my aunt or personal expeance. ill go on the net tomorrow or thursday and see if i can find some good web sites. im glad your interestined, the information you find on the net can be misleading and i dont really like it , it took me almost 2 years to find accurat information about wicca. i know it seems kinda open on the out side but true wicca is a tightly knite society, you have to blunt to people who are clearly wiccan, some cant say they are for instence a fair or "new Age" store you have to basicaly say your wiccan friendly before you can get any real help.
cool cool and if you have any questions feel free to ask
