Hi. I just joined teenville and I am so glad there is a wiccan community! I've always been interested in wicca and I've just recently begun practising it so I'm still learning. I'm glad someone has decided to post the truth about wicca because I know I've been getting a lot of comments from christian friends about how they know very little about the religion. I hope all people can learn to understand wicca, even if they don't practise it.

Yes
I enjoy it very much but its sometimes hard for people who are first attracked to wicca to not have a slight dislike towards Christanity.

It took me almost a year to understand that religion, no matter what should be respect, including other beliefs even if you dont believe in them yourself.

THere are some members of my group who thinks its ok to make fun of certain aspects of christanity. But its cool when you get to the level of understanding, and you relize that most of all religons share the same basic beliefs.

ANd yes som people are crazy and take religion to the exstreme, but most religious people no matter what religion are really cool.

Wicca rox , its so cool, and when you research it and attualy fin reliable facts its like finding a new world and subculture, that most people dont even relize exsists. I dont think people relize how much wiccan people there are. cool cool

Ahh the wiccan religion. I am inspired by the wiccan religion. Its such a beautiful one. Its so sad how so many people have this stereotype of wiccans, but there is nothing you can really do but try to educate one person at a time. I'm not sure how many people have said bad things about wicca on this topic but I am to lazy to read it but I will say this to those types of people. Rawr.

Yeah it is a very misunderstood religion, unfortunatly. However this forum is actually really good, people actualy read the posts and understand that wicca is infact one of the most peace loveing religions.ITs really sad because though alot of teens are kinda ignarant about wicca, its nothing compared to the parents, holly.
It would have been a real challange to be openly wiccan like a generation or 2 ago thats for sure.

Oh you are so right about that. Some parents today won't even try to understand that wicca is not an evil thing. I'm glad my parents do, but that might be because my mom works with a lady whom is Wiccan and is a memeber of a cult. I think it's really sad when people try to become Wiccan just so they can have the title. Just so they can go around and say that they are so much more cooler and diffrent.

thats for sure, my dad doesnt really have a religion and because of my mom being so sick for so long he kinda lost any faith he had. Of course my mothers illness actually gave me more faith... so i dont know. Yeah. its only been like 2 months since she passed away and im still kinda in shoke..... anyway yeah im happy that your mom exsepts your realigion, it makes it that much more enjoyable when you can share your believes with others.
Do your friends know your wiccan?

You see thats the fun part. I have one friend who knows I'm influenced by the wiccan religion and a few other online buddies I talk to also know but as for my other friends... My other friends are big Christians, some of the go to Church and most of them go to Youth Groups which preach all the time about the Christian Religion soo I don't know how they'd take it Oh and I can only say I am inspired by wicca for I cannot truthfully call myself a Wiccan because I am Agnostic.

one thing i disagree is that you can't go and make a religion, it does not work like that. Plus if this thing continues we will have millions of religion made by any person.

Wicca wasnt a religion that a single person made up and in all fairness the creation of most of the major religions are atributed to a single person or diety, Christanity has christ, Buddists have Budda, Muslims have Muhammad, Prodastants have King Henry the Vlll.
so to say that no religion should be made by a single person well most realigions are made that way. Wicca is a collection of beliefs from several old religions like Egyptions, Druids, Celts, Natives basically the beliefs of the world before christ or common era. Wicca is taking the things you want to believe in and accept as true and believeing them thats why my version of wicca and anothers can be different but we dont fight about it, we celibrate it as a community.

for christianity, judisum and Islam all the three Prophets was choosen by God and through them God revieled(sp) His message.

BUT for other religions such as Buddisium(sp), etc. what you say is right

Prove it,
god didnt write the bible people did. Those people may have been enlightened, and there words may be true but gods hand didnt exstend from the heavens and grab a peice of paper and pen and go at it. it is only through faith and our beifs that any religious text rings true its all relivant . to say that Buddha's is teaching is less relivant because he himself did not speech in his text and say he was choosen by god doesnt make what he says less true.
