that is the main arguement about the bible, torah and qu'ran....
im inclined on genevieve on this one though... because writing stuff is as prone to changes and alterations as word of mouth... those who were powerful and influential have their writings reach out..(especially that writing is common amongts rich people and not the poor back then..)

so history belongs to those powerful enough... alternative historians such as those who have written the gnostic gospels (which is curently a hot press..started with dan brown's controversy)..had to flee because the "common" people would persecute them ...because what they believe in was against others..of course it is not necessarily correct or accurate but still... the principle that power writes history is there...

so i refuse to take the accounts of the bible, torah and qu'ran as absolute facts...besides u dont need them to act good to others and thank your creator for the life you were given...

people call me blasphemous especially because i was born catholic..and those jehova's witnesses friends of mine... for holding what i believe in..

(anyways..i got side tracked) about the wicca religion..its sounds ok to learn because it is enriched with different cultures..

wot i hate is dat people would call wiccas weird and crazy just because they say "im a wiccan" which is outright stupid!

hey
its really nice to hear that there are other people who have a similar view on religion as i do. "The writen word is just a subject to change as word of mouth." And new words can be just as true as old ones. I dont believe that poeple should read one book and declare it the be all and end all. You have research and find your own truth and as you look there may be a specific volume that holds more truth then the others But at least you have searched and learned.

I think that it is so sad that some people preach that if you were to read a book on wicca, or islam or any other religion its a sin or evil. Knowledge is never evil. Knowledge is indifferent, and neutral and while i risk being cleche its what the person chooses to do with that knowledge that detemins there intent and subsequently makes the choice between "good" and "bad" .
