I find that by standing flat against a wall for a few min helps with the pain, it's weird but it helps.
that and drinking lots of tea!

my mom is a nurse and she said the eating bananas are good for the pain jus eat one a day n the pain will go away for a while

what do i do? i don't really do anything that necessarily helps (except the secret stuff that i don't tell anybody about helps somewhat). well first i take of course Midol and my prescription medicine if it hurts bad enough. but that doesn't help that much. sometimes it hurts so bad i end up crying and screaming. gee i see what people mean about mood swings...i AM in a cranky mood when im on one. my first day goes like this: take meds, stay in bed for a while, scream/cry, cuddle up w/my bunny, sit in the bathroom, watch some tv, go on the computer for an hour or two and then the routine starts over again. after a few days of course its not so bad. and on the first day if i go to sleep while im in bed thats even better.
actually there is one thing i can tell ya that helps some i end up yelling at my celeb crushes. it helps to get my frustration out to someone even if they can't hear you.
crazy, but it helps ME feel better.

My period pain doesn't get that bad. Sometimes I get achey and a bit pissed off about it, but I usually take a pain killer of some sort, like Advil. It helps a little. Mostly I just lie down if it gets that bad.

oh there is one other thing i just tried recently...

i find that with periods it doesnt help to stay in one spot so thats probly why i end up tossing and turning alot. periods are the worst for the lazy like me cuz you just wanna keep laying aroud. i can lay down for a few minutes but sooner or later im gonna have to get up. if you need to relax, then it is better if you sit up. im not sure if this is a painkiller (im sure it takes some pain away while youre doing it) but it definitely takes my mind off of it..i was hanging up my clothes yesterday (got behind whoops!) and as long as you do it for a while you can do household chores. ok so its not fun but it does make me feel better. i say its good because it took some pain away for me at the time and i got my room cleaner at the same time.
the main thing is you just gotta keep moving..you dont necessarily have to do chores. go outside, take a walk or something if you want. anything to keep you busy and moving.

*when i am laying down i often lay down at the end of the bed and stare at the floor. (sorta leaning toward the floor) for some reason laying that way makes me feel a bit better.

*for a music addict like me listening for a while to internet radio helps me relax at times. so im not dwelling on the pain.

Think of something that feels better, like a massage. Or yeah, Bananas work. I also know that oatmeal can help too.
