What kind of help and support? And how is that enough to ensure their well being?

How is the situation right now? Does she pay bills? If not, when she does, will she still be able to manage that, manage the baby, and manage a job?

That's what's called a "What if?" situation. What if Old Testament laws apply and we should be stoning people on Sunday? What if the Treaty of Versailles was never forged? In these instances, you must weigh one situation with the other. You can't automatically assume that, just because a better situation is possible, it is worth it.

"Why only the women? Do you not believe that there should be collaboration with the father as well? Or, in the event of rape, collaboration with whoever else is available?
What if the woman is mentally unbalanced? If so, she would not have a clear judgement. She could very much go against the best wishes of the child and cause more harm.".
